The O'Dywer family donated the site for the Cheshire Home at Lismirrane, in Bohola. William O'Dywer became Mayor of New York City between nineteen fort six and nineteen fifty. After that period, he became President Truman's Ambassador to Mexico, an unusual distinction for an Irish emigrant.
